QR Scanner & Barcode Reader ("we", "our", or "us"), provided
by Blobatic, is an Android application for scanning and creating
QR codes and barcodes. This Privacy Policy explains how
information is handled when you use our application.
1. Camera and Image Access
Camera: The app requests camera permission
to display a live preview and scan QR codes and barcodes.
Camera frames are processed on your device. We do not upload,
store, or share camera frames.
Gallery images: If you select “Scan from
Gallery,” Android's system picker allows you to choose a
specific image. The selected image is processed locally on
your device and is not uploaded to our servers.
Saved codes: When you choose to save a
generated QR code or barcode, the resulting image is saved
to your device gallery.
2. Scan History and Local Data
Scan history: Scanned results, generated
code content, code types, timestamps, and favorite status
may be stored in a local database on your device.
App preferences: Settings such as theme,
vibration, sound, automatic URL opening, and scanning
preferences are stored locally on your device.
Code content: QR codes and barcodes may
contain URLs, contact information, Wi-Fi credentials, email
addresses, phone numbers, locations, or text. This content
is processed to provide the requested feature. We do not
send scanned or generated code content to our servers or
include it in analytics events.
No account required: The app does not
require you to create an account or sign in.
3. Android Backup
Depending on your device and Android backup settings, Android
may back up eligible local application data to your Google
account. Android backups are managed by Android and Google, not
by QR Scanner & Barcode Reader.
4. Analytics, Advertising, and Consent
The app uses Google services for analytics, advertising, consent
management, diagnostics, and application performance. Subject
to your consent choices and applicable law, these services may
process device information, app activity, advertising
identifiers, IP-derived approximate location, diagnostic data,
performance data, and interactions with advertisements.
Google Firebase Analytics: We may collect
events such as screen views, barcode format, general content
category, whether a gallery scan succeeded, and interactions
with app features. The actual text or other content contained
in a scanned or generated code is not included in analytics.
Google AdMob: AdMob is used to display and
measure advertisements and prevent advertising fraud. Ads
may be personalized or non-personalized depending on your
region, consent choices, and device settings.
Google User Messaging Platform: Where
required, the app asks for your privacy and advertising
choices before enabling eligible advertising and analytics
collection. If available in your region, you can revisit
these choices through the privacy-options entry in the app.
Internet and network state: Used for
advertising, consent management, analytics, and related
Google services.
Vibration: Used to provide optional haptic
feedback after a successful scan.
You can manage permissions at any time through Android Settings.
If camera permission is denied, live camera scanning will not
work, but other available app features may continue to function.
6. Data Sharing and Sale
We do not sell or rent your personal information. Information
may be processed by Google to provide the analytics,
advertising, consent, diagnostic, and security services
described in this policy.
We may disclose information when required by law, necessary to
protect rights or safety, or as part of a business transfer,
subject to applicable law.
7. Data Retention and Deletion
You can delete individual history entries from within the
app.
You can clear all scanned and generated-code history from
within the app.
You can delete locally stored application data through
Android Settings or by uninstalling the app.
QR code or barcode images saved to your gallery remain there
until you delete them separately.
Android backups may remain subject to Google's backup and
retention practices.
You can reset or limit your device's advertising identifier
through Android or Google settings.
8. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures intended
to protect information handled by the app. However, no device,
storage system, or transmission method can be guaranteed to be
completely secure.
9. Children's Privacy
QR Scanner & Barcode Reader is intended for a general
audience and is not directed to children under the age of 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If you believe a child has provided personal information through
the app, please contact us.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the app,
our data practices, or applicable requirements. Any revised
policy will be posted on this page with an updated effective
date.
